MA, RCC

Associate Counsellor
Location: Langley & Virtual

Angela is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. She has a Master’s degree in Marriage, Family, and Community, and has completed additional coursework and training through an accredited Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy program. She works with adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and families, from all different backgrounds and walks in life.

Angela aims to provide a safe, nonjudgmental, and understanding space for people to share openly and honestly at a deeper level. It is in this space where she believes each person’s inner resources and strength can be accessed for healing and growth, in ways that make sense to us as unique individuals.

She focuses on exploring and strengthening each person’s sense of self, including understanding significant emotions and the roles they play in our lives from a place of mindfulness and self-compassion. Relationships and how we connect (or fail to connect) with people strongly impact our experience of life as human beings, so her approach to individual growth is tied to transforming how we experience and navigate our relationships, and vice versa.

In clinical terms, Angela’s approach is person-centered, systemic, and attached-based, drawing primarily on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Satir Transformational Therapy, and incorporates Mindful Self-Compassion, ACT and CBT.

Specific concerns she addresses include:

• Emotional distress (i.e. stress, depression, anxiety, grief, loss, shame)
• Life transitions
• Relational conflict or tension
• Marriage & Couples (pre-marital & dating)
• Parenting
• Work concerns
• Burnout
• Boundaries
• Spiritual issues
